  • The town of Rhodes is an open-air museum by itself. But it also has a modern, bustling face with many shops, cafes tavernas and busy roads.
  • Rhodes is a big island, where you can find everything you may wish, either of archaeological or generally cultural interest or of sports life -horse riding, golf, squash, diving, ect…
  • Visit the attractive Mandraki harbour, if only to see where the Colossus of Rhodes -one of the 7 wonders of the world- once stood.
  • In the town of Rhodes visit also the Aquarium.
  • Visit Filerimos, a very nice hill at the NE side of the island. You will see the monastery, the paths, and the archaeological site.

  • Mooring On the N of the entrance there are shallow waters and reefs.
  • Shelter from all weathers. Crowded harbour + flotillas, so you may have to tie on the second tier
  • Available services fuel, water, stores, repairs. Also electricity, WC and showers


Alternative bays
  • Lindos. Visit the ancient castle of Lindos and the very pretty town. The bay offers shelter from the meltemi, but is open to E winds. Good holding. Do not attempt to pass between the two islets on the NE of the bay!
  • Prassonissi. On the S tip of the island, if you like water sports. The N side offers good shelter from S winds, whereas the S side from the N winds. Bottom of sand. You will find beach bars, cafes and tavernas.
